Barrier-Free Determination

Sentence 3.8.1.1.(1) applies Section 3.8 to all buildings except the house types and small boarding or rooming houses of Clause (a), buildings of Group F, Division 1 major occupancy, buildings not intended to be occupied on a daily or full time basis, and camps for housing of workers. For Part 9 buildings, Sentence 9.5.2.1.(1) requires conformance with Section 3.8 except as provided in Sentence 9.5.2.1.(2) and Article 3.8.1.1.

Codara checks these exclusions for a new building, then the portable classroom relief of Sentence 3.9.3.9.(1) where it applies. It does not evaluate where a barrier-free path of travel is required (Article 3.8.2.1, Areas Requiring Barrier-Free Path of Travel), entrances, washrooms or any other Section 3.8 requirement, and it does not assess work on existing buildings.
